still be faster than Windows XP even on 96Mb RAM! The minimum hard drive requirement is also
disabled, but you must allow at least 5Gb to be safe for the extraction of the included drivers.
These driverpacks do not stay on your drive after installation, but you will still need enough
space so they can extract during the install.
You have full driver support from Windows XP included and many other drivers are also included.
You will not require a floppy disk for your SATA hard drive like you normally would.

The requirement of almost 8Gb of disk space is reduced to less than 3Gb.
This installation only takes up about 35% of the size of a normal installation
of Windows Vista. Many components have been removed from this edition of Windows,
but you still have Microsoft's three main programs:
Internet Explorer 7
Windows Mail (Formerly "Outlook Express")
Windows Media Player 11
You also have the new Aero theme in this edition
of Windows and the ability to use Windows Update.
There are no services taken out of this special edition of Windows.
Only three services have been disabled: Remote Registry, Windows Error
Reporting Service, Windows Search.
You cannot do an upgrade installation from this CD, because the upgrade files
have been removed. You can only install Windows by booting from the CD and
formatting your partition or hard drive.
There are concerns about finding a good firewall and antivirus for Windows Vista.
If you want to use a good antivirus, get hold of NOD32 v2.70.31 (or later) and use
the NSANE fix. For a firewall, you're stuck with the built in firewall it seems, at
least until software vendors start to make Vista compatible firewalls. On June 7th
2007, Comodo Firewall version 3 is due for release - this will have Vista support.

Despite Windows Vista being an absolutely massive operating system, it still
does not even include DirectX DLL files! What were Microsoft thinking? So if
you need the DirectX 9 DLL files (d3dx9_24/25/26/27/28/29/30/31/32/33.dll)
you can just double click the file in this folder to extract these 10 DLL
files to system32. This will keep compatibility with games you might have
stored on another drive from a previous installation.
---Ethernet Drivers---
Despite Windows Vista being an absolutely massive operating system, it still
does not even include some Ethernet Drivers! What were Microsoft thinking?
So if your Ethernet card is not working after installing Windows Vista and
it needs its driver installing, you can use the Ethernet Driver pack thats
included in this folder. Follow the instructions in the ReadMe.txt file.
After installing your Ethernet Card, see if your onboard sound is working,
IT PROBABLY WON'T BE, it seems Microsoft forgot to include Realtek AC97
sound drivers in Windows Vista, this is ridiculous considering almost
every motherboard in the world has Realtek AC97 sound! Its almost as if
Microsoft are trying to annoy people on purpose, they give you a 2.5Gb+
DVD sized Operating System WITHOUT Ethernet Drivers, Sound Drivers or
DirectX DLL files.

This unattended version of Windows is very easy to install.
You can only install this edition of Windows onto a formatted partition or hard drive,
in other words, you cannot do an upgrade installation from within Windows.

The ability to upgrade from an older version of Windows has also
been removed manually after vLite was used. vLite does not support
this at this moment in time, but this was done by removing every
file and folder from the "sources" folder on the CD except the
two Windows image files "boot.wim" and "install.wim"
To get the "SHA-512" checksum for this ISO file
calculated, use the included program "HashCalc"
1 - Run HashCalc.
2 - Tick the "SHA512" tick box.
3 - Untick all other tickboxes.
4 - Click the browse "..." button (next to the white box)
5 - In the window that pops up, double click the downloaded ISO file.

7 - After a few minutes you will see a 128 digit number.

What is Multilingual User Interface?
Providing for multiple languages during an operating system deployment has been a challenge in the past, often requiring delays until fully localized versions are released. The limited number of localized languages available presented a further challenge to organizations with a global presence. The Multilingual User Interface (MUI) in the Microsoft® Windows vista™ operating system provides a new approach to multiple languages.
In Windows® XP, the MUI pack was applied on top of an English version, and then language packs were installed to provide a localized user experience. The results were mixed; some languages had more complete support than others. And in each case, the language packs had to be installed over an English version of Windows XP.
In Windows vista, the MUI architecture separates the language resources for the user interface from the binary code of the operating system. This separation makes it possible to change languages completely without changing the core binaries of Windows vista, or to have multiple languages installed on the same computer. Languages are applied as language packs containing the resources required to localize part of, or the entire, user interface in Windows vista.
Language packs contain the localized resources for the user interface in Windows vista. All installations of Windows vista contain at least one language pack and the language neutral binaries that make up the operating system. The types of language packs described below differ only in the amount of coverage that they provide to Windows vista and whether they require another language pack to provide a complete interface.
Implementation of the Windows vista MUI consists of two primary elements:
Language-neutral binaries The files that make up Windows vista do not contain any language specific resources and are described as language-neutral binaries. The benefit of a language neutral operating system is that it can be updated by a single software update anywhere in the world, rather than requiring a language-specific version of the update.
Language packs Language packs provide the localized language resources for the user interface. This support is provided at varying levels:
Fully localized language pack Localized interface resources for Windows vista. Language packs contain 100 percent of the user interface text resources. Windows vista using a language pack would appear to have a completely localized user interface with all elements appearing in the specified language. The English (United States) version of Windows vista is a language neutral version with the en-US language pack applied. Language packs are also sometimes referred to as parent languages.
Parent language pack A parent language pack is a fully localized language pack providing support for a language interface pack (LIP). An example would be a Windows vista computer using French as a parent language and Lao to provide the most common portions of the language resources.
Base language pack A base language pack is typically a fully localized language pack that is installed to provide the language resources that are absent in a partially localized language pack.
Partially localized language pack A partially localized language pack contains most, but not all, of the language resources for the user interface in Windows vista. To provide a full user interface, a partially localized language pack depends on a base language pack. For example, Arabic (Saudi Arabia) is a partially localized language pack and contains approximately 80 percent of the language resources localized in Arabic. The remaining 20 percent of the language resources can be in either English or French. Both English and French are fully localized languages.
Language interface pack A LIP depends upon a parent language pack to provide a complete user interface conversion. In regions where there are commonly two languages you can provide a greater degree of localization by applying a LIP over a language pack to provide a better user experience.

Since Windows XP, Microsoft has instituted Windows Product Activation (WPA). This prevents any extended full usage of the Product beyond the allotted time, determined at install. We are NOT providing workarounds or ‘fixes’ for WPA. You are still required to activate your software within this time. While we are aware of possible workarounds in the wild that may work with Windows Vista, we suggest keeping yourself out of trouble. Most release groups will tell you, “if you like it buy it,” we say the same.
Note: When selecting the version of Vista to install during Setup, you must select the type that corresponds to the architecture you selected prior to the start of Setup. (ie. if you choose the x64 Setup, you must select an x64 version from the list of Vistas to install.)
